INA Membership Renewal

Message from the INA President, Professor Valsamma Eapen

Thank you for joining the INA. If you did so as part of the free introductory offer, we hope you found the organisation to be of interest. We invite you to consider continuing your membership either for another year or even life-long. If you join us, you will be part of a growing group of clinicians and scientists worldwide, dedicated to the discipline of neuropsychiatry and to patients with neuropsychiatric disorders.

Lifetime membership is $350, annual is $35.

INA is an international organisation of clinicians and researchers working in the field of neuropsychiatry and allied neuroscience disciplines. The membership allows you to be part of this growing neuropsychiatric community and to be able to contribute to and learn from others. There are a number of benefits of being a member:

  • You will be able to access the ‘members only pages’ and be able to link up with established neuropsychiatrists internationally.
  • Access regular webinars / educational sessions live or access the recordings at your convenience at a later date.
  • Discount on future INA conferences and joint conferences with INA affiliation, eg the Melbourne INA/RANZCP meeting 13-15th November 2024.
  • We are negotiating favourable terms for free access/free publication costs with established neuropsychiatry journals – eg 60% discount for “Cognitive Neuropsychiatry” subscription and discounts on publication costs for “Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment”.
  • Join the conversation on the cutting-edge developments in neuropsychiatry and be able to steer its direction and priorities.
  • Access information on key articles in various areas of neuropsychiatry including access to free pdf if the copyright allows this (we are compiling a library of essential readings in neuropsychiatry to be updated regularly by the INA Board).
  • Information on key international charitable and professional organisations with easily accessible information key neuropsychiatric areas. Easy to use hyperlinks are provided for accessing these resources with one click.
  • Information on key forthcoming international conferences in the area of neuropsychiatry.
  • You will be able to link to the Global Neuropsychiatry Group – a WhatsApp and Basecamp group which is a growing forum to share knowledge, research ideas, discuss complex cases and ask questions.
    • Professionals interested in the interface between neurology and psychiatry are invited to join the Global Neuropsychiatry Group.  This is a virtual group established to provide a forum for psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, neurophysiologists, clinical neuroscientists and others interested in the field of neurosciences to share knowledge and to learn from each other. The aim of the group is to make neuropsychiatry accessible across the globe. Clinicians have an opportunity to discuss complex cases and share research ideas.
    • The group is truly international. It has been active for one year and already has approximately 300 members from US, Canada, SA, UK, Germany, India, Australia and many more countries. Accordingly, it also enables an understanding of service provision and clinical practices in different countries around the world and opens the door for multinational research. In addition, mindful of the gap in training for neurology trainees in psychiatry and psychiatry trainees in neurology across the globe, this forum provides a source of education and a way of establishing networks not only with peers but also with senior clinicians and academics.
    • The group meets virtually on the last Thursday of the month for an hour, 9 am -10:30 am GMT, London time. The format is a mixture of talks and case presentations. Apart from the monthly international virtual meetings, WhatsApp as mobile and Basecamp as email platforms have been set-up for clinical and research related day-to-day discussions. These platforms can also be used to communicate with each other. Recordings of the webinar are posted for people who cannot attend on the day.
    • Anybody wishing to join the WhatsApp group can do so by sharing their mobile number or clicking on the chat link below and/ or join via email using Basecamp. WhatsApp appears to be more popular. Most of the senior clinicians are connected that way.
    • The contact person is Jasvinder Singh who established The Global Neuropsychiatry Group, and is a neuropsychiatrist based in Brisbane, Australia. You can get in touch with him via email  Jasvinder.singh@uq.edu.au or WhatsApp at +61414589229.
    • The Global Neuropsychiatry Group is endorsed by the International Neuropsychiatry Association.
